How to Look Good When You Feel Bad
You know the old age adage, “If you don’t have something nice to say”? Well, the same goes for your looks-keep it to yourself! Seriously, we all have those sleepless nights, be it babies, booze, or brain on spin cycle, keeping us up when we need to look dynamite for a party, date, photo-shoot, or just a day in the life of you. Here are some pointers to help you turn that frown upside down, or whatever the equivalent is to flipping that bad look!Wake up & de-puff:Start by splashing your face with cold water. Marcia Kilgore, creator of Bliss Spa’s once shared that after a night of excessive drinking and no sleep, she dipped her face in a bowl of ice water. The cold helps to move the fluid away from the surface of the skin so it is helpful with all over water retention and puffiness.Puffy Eyes:This is a genetic weakness of mine so I am always on the hunt for cures in this department!! Tried and true, Simply Divine Botanicals makes a product called “Pack your bags they’re leaving” (yes I sell this)! This is a miracle for your baggage! I put this on right when I get up so I can leave it on for as long as possible and then go for water & coffee! Should be left on at least 5-10 minutes but I find best results with 20 minutes. I keep the product in the refrigerator for extra cooling action and to keep it fresh.Mask It:If you know you are going to bed and need to look good the next day, you can sleep with many of the moisturizing masks on the market, just be certain it is just for hydrating and soothing sans stimulating ingredients. A current favorite of mine is the Soothing Repair Mask by ISUN. If you did not intend to have a sleepless night or wake up looking fraggly, you can wash & apply mask to work while you are sipping coffee/tea, and getting ready for your day.H2O- drink & soak:Many of you know my recommendation of starting your day with warm lemon water, which helps with lymphatic drainage. If you have had too much to drink, you can switch this to lime water, as lime aids in liver detox.Soak in an Epsom salt bath if you can for 10-20 min. This helps draw out impurities and soothe body pain so it is good for everything from moving out the starts of a cold, to alcohol over doses and more.Ladies:This is a time to pull out the makeup even if you don’t wear it on a regular basis. Cover those circles! You can brush the La Bella Donna mineral makeup all over first then use the Mineral Eraser by La Bella Donna.Get some natural, healthy looking color on those cheeks & lips. Curl your eyelashes. Shu Emura has the best eye lash curler that has ever graced this planet!! It is only available on their site.Yes, I sell all of the products mentioned (except the lash curler) as they are star products, and a part of my personal secret weapon arsenal. Hope this helps you get through a rough day in the name of beauty!
