Dry, chapped, irritated skin? It’s time for change…Seasons change is the perfect time to winterize your skin & your skincare regimen.Winter weather can cause havoc in our skin, not to mention heaters, travel, and poor diets, which are all factors in the game this time of year. Dry, cold air makes skin work harder to keep a healthy lipid barrier and we all suffer from more transepidermal water loss.When your skin gets really dry several things happen. First and foremost, dry skin can look older and who wants that?! In addition, your skin (like all your other organs), functions better when it is hydrated topically and internally. When we loose moisture on the surface we also compromise our built in barrier protection which can make our skin more prone to rashes, redness, and other skin irritations. Those of you who are prone to eczema /rosacea/psoriasis/ other skin conditions find they can “flare up” much easier when dry.What to do now? Prevention is always best!To help keep skin looking its best this winter here are tips/product recommendations on how to correct/heal/prevent and hydrate your skin now! Do one or all of these things now. If your skin is uber dry, AND/OR, if you are working to heal or correct skin issues such as acne/discoloration… you need to do more to get your skin to function better. When you are dry you don’t heal as well!1. Up the anti on your moisturizer! One way to do this is to use a booster like my OMG (Oh Mega Goodness). This oil is LOADED with Omegas which are incredibly and deeply moisturizing!You can use the same moisturizer you are currently using and just add in a few drops of this at night to boost or kick up the value of your current moisturizer.2.
